Why Choose a Celebrant Led Wedding?

1

Registrar led ceremonies cannot include any religious or spiritual elements, they also have to be held in a licensed venue or a licensed permanent structure, if outdoors, which can be very restricting.

2

Couples only meet their local council registrar on the day of the ceremony, and not before hand. This usually means there is not time to provide personal details for that special touch, and can be quite overwhelming on the day of your wedding.

 FAQs

  • A celebrant led wedding is personal and unique to you both, with bespoke vows and promises especially written for you and about you.

  • Sadly not. As a professional celebrant, I cannot legally marry you. This will need to be done by a Registrar at a registry office or licensed venue usually on a different day to your bespoke wedding ceremony.

  • It can be religious or non religious, spiritual or just fun. Totally up to you!

  • You can have your bespoke ceremony Indoors or outdoors, It’s your choice. It doesn’t even need to be a licensed venue.

  • My standard fee for your bespoke Wedding ceremony or Vow Renewal ceremony is £550.

Types of Unity Rituals

  • Wine blending

Couples choose two different wines, perhaps one of their favourites. They pour them both into a glass to create the perfect blend and take a sip each. This doesn’t have to be done with wine, it can be beer or other drinks or tea.

  • Memory box

A bottle of wine is placed inside a special box along with other items such as a letter to each other, a copy of a couple's vows, photos or items from the special day. The box is then sealed and opened at a later date like a special anniversary.

  • Hand fastening

An ancient Celtic custom where the hands of the couple are tied together with ribbon, cords or rope. This can be done with the couple  or with the children of a blended family in a vow renewal to signify them becoming one family.

  • Candle ceremony

The lighting of two separate candles at the start of the ceremony used to light a larger candle towards the end of the ceremony.

  • Sand ceremony

A unique way to symbolise the joining of two people or two families together, once the different colours of sand are joined they can never be separated and neither can a family.

  • Rose ceremony

Roses can be given to each other as a symbol of love or to family members such as the mothers of the couple to show the appreciation and love the couple have for them.

  • Ring warming ceremony

The couples wedding rings can be passed around the room at the start of the ceremony amongst the guests to wish the couple a happy future together. A great way to get everyone involved in your special day.

  • Wishing tree

Guests take a tag as they arrive and write a message of love or wishes for your future together, then hang them on the wishing tree your you both to read later.

  • Unity toast

A lovely way to end a heart warming ceremony that has been full of love and sharing the couples love story. This can be a toast with all of your guests or just each other.
